As you get older, I would think that we no longer get that silly feeling of a crush or infatuation. In my mind, you just go for the kill, no such thing as guessing, does he like me, does he not, glance over to see what he is doing, thinking the whole nite, week, how to start a conversation etc.
But it is easier in my mind to say that all women over 30 should be brave enough to just talk to a guy, ask him out etc. But reality it is not. When you find yourself kinda attracted to a guy..and hey when you are over 30, it does not come often!!!! why you ask?...firstly, meeting a nice and decent looking guy is tough enough - men over 30s either is balding, getting really fat or just have an unpleasant personality. Secondly, you have to check out for the ring or try to find out if he is married. Thirdly...ohhh he is single! hurray! but wait a minute...we have to find out if he is gay!?? So now this whole process do take sometime so I think women have learned to suppress their feelings and emotions until they check out all the boxes.
If the guy clears all the hurdles, then the nightmare of infatuation starts.......oh does he like me, how do I get him to notice me...how to get his number or more like how to give him my number?, when can I see him again? so on and on.
It is frustrating, and you feel like you are 15 again, with butterflies in yr stomach, tossing and turning at night thinking abt him, calling yr girlfriends for emergency pet talks etc
So I am rooting for Soos who is interested in her yoga instructor. So he cleared stage 1 - kinda good looks and kinda a nice guy. Not married - tick. And not gay - this took a lot of verifications to confirm. So she has a plan in place to subtly ask him for drinks after her next yoga class. Wish her luck.
